Junior Touring Teams are being put together for young athletes living in and around Mississauga.
We are very excited to announce that Competitive Youth Ultimate is returning in Mississauga, after our spectacular inaugural year !! Some of you may know that there are ultimate high school age rep teams that train and compete in the spring and summer at regional, provincial and national tournaments. In Ultimate circles, these are called “Juniors Touring Teams”.
The Mississauga Ultimate Club is running a program for players born in 2007 to 2012. As well, we are accepting interest from kids as young as 10 years of age, in case there is enough interest in a program for kids under the age of 13. We have experienced coaches and national-level players ready to show youth how to get to the next level.
If enough students come and are able to commit to the teams, the goal would be to have a competitive and a development team for each gender. The idea is to develop these players and to expose them to touring ultimate (which is competitive but really fun and good-spirited)!
Please share this information with any high school students you may know and encourage them to try out. Athletic kids in middle school may be interested as well.
Also, if you would be interested in helping coach (even once a week or are willing to help with admin), please reach out to us at touring@missuc.ca
Tryouts will be on Sunday April 13 fromm 11 am to 2 pm; and Saturday April 19 from 4pm to 7 pm at Mentor College field (40 Forest Ave, Mississauga).
Practices will be Mondays and/or Wednesdays.
Players must establish a MissUC profile (if they don’t already have one), then complete a Youth Competitive Tryout Registration form before trying out!
This is for students born after January 1, 2007 .
