U19 DL 2022 Summer Wednesday Team Captain Registration [CANCELLED]

This 7-week league  will start at 6:45 and go until dusk.

This league is a new YUM (Youth Ultimate Mississauga) initiative.   It is designed for teenagers between the ages of 14 and 18 who are interested in building on their basic understanding of the game of ultimate and improving through some drills, mentorship and game play.

This league welcomes players of all skill levels.  This league welcomes both team registrations and individual registrations.  This is the registration page for a TEAM registration.

As the founder of this team, and one of its Captains, you will be responsible for securing enough Open players and Female players to complete the team.  Games are anticiapted to be 7 v 7 so you will want at least 6 Open players and 6 Female Players. There is no limit to the number of players you can have on your team.  Do not register a team until you are confident that you can put a complete team together.

A special feature of this league will be the addition of two adult players to each team, know as "U19 DL Mentor".  Each team will have have two adult U19 DL Mentors (ideally an Open player and a Woman player), whose responsibility will be to ensure accurate interpretation of the rules, promote SOTG (Spirit of the Game), and facilitate in the flow of play.

The U19 DL Mentors for each team must be approved by MissUC, but they may be assigned either by MissUC or, as team founder, you may request your U19 DL Mentors pending MissUC approval.  There will be no registration fee for the U19 DL Mentors .

The cost of your Team Fee, is $85 (including tax), the cost of an Individual Registration Fee.  The additional players for your team must register as U19 Development League 2022 "Individual with Team".  It will be up to you, as the team Captain, to add them to your team once they are registered as Individuals With a Designated Team.  Create a team nickname in this  registration and inform your team mates of the team nickname, so they can identify it in their registration.  The deadline to have your team roster sufficiently complete (6 Open, 6 Women) is May 25th.  If you do not have a complete team by that date, you will likely lose your team status and you and everyone on your team will be treated as HAT Team Registrants, and there will be NO guarantee that you will be able to be on the same team with each other.

There are limits to the number of teams that can register for this league.  Once those limits are reached, teams wanting to join will be asked to join a WAITING LIST.   If you receive a message that you are on the WAITING LIST, remain there.  We will do our best to get you playing.

Since an even number of teams are required, we will put the 5th team to join on the WAITING LIST, until we have a 6th team.  We will put the 7th team on the WAITING LIST, until we have an 8th team.... 

Games will be 7vs7.    This is a league of equal gender ratios (ie. alternating 3:4 / 4:3).

Please note, we welcome players older than 14 years of age in this league. Players under 18 years of age should be accompanied by an adult to the game.  Anyone that is under 14 years of age is encouraged to speak with the GM of the league before registering. 

Each team is required to have at least one female Captain.

As a Captain of this team, you will also have some responsibilities with respect to the health and safety of your team members and fellow players in the league: 

• You will be expected to ask every team member before the game starts a series of questions related to the likelihood of them having COVID.  If any indicate that they might, you are to ask them to leave the field. 
• It is imperative for Contact Tracing purposes that you make sure the Attendance Tracker (it is part of the Zuluru system) accurately reflects the attendance of each played game. 
• If a member of your team is revealed to have contracted COVID and likely played a game with it, you must let the league know immediately. 
• There may be some additional requirements.
